In the foothills of the Himalayas, the Daphne plant, locally known as "Lokta, " grows in abundance at altitudes of more than 6, 500 feet. Removing the bark from the Lokta actually promotes new growth and is beneficial to the plant. The controlled harvest of the Lokta ensures a sustainable, eco-friendly papermaking process.
