Toy Store Only Sells Cardboard Boxes To Encourage Imagination [Pics]

Children's museum creates a workshop area that triggers kids to get creative.

Chicago Children’s Museum partnered with creative agencies Energy BBDO and Xi Chicago to create a toy store without any actual toys. The only products you would find in Mr. Imagine’s Toy Store are various boxes of all sizes and shapes. Children can interact with boxes such as climb on the nine-foot-tall Giant, or turn the into cardboard creations.

The space is purposely built to allow kids unplug from the digital world and reconnect with their creativity and imagination. The museum recently held a ‘Unboxed’ exhibit where they displayed some of the crafty works by the kids. Some children have converted the boxes into colorful canvases, while others have turned them into objects like robot, TV, and musical instruments. Take a look at some of the creations below.
