But not just any airplane - a rare, perfectly restored 1936 Junkers JU 52. "Aunty Ju", as she is affectionately known, is the sentimental "Pride of the Fleet" of Lufthansa Airlines, the German national flag carrier and one of the Boeing Company's most important customers. She had just completed her first promotional tour of North America and needed to be crated for the long journey home.

A wood box was needed - and needed fast. A wood box the size of a small two story house, strong enough to have a four ton airplane parked in its living room, able to be hoisted a hundred feet in the air and withstand the rigors of being shipped halfway around the world. Two weeks later, Aunty Ju was safely packed in her "Portable Hanger" aboard a container ship bound for Hamburg, Germany.
